I am a vegan. I have been for over three months, and I was vegetarian for a year before that. I am not about shoving stuff down my omnivore friends' throats. I figure that people will come to that in their own way. I mean, there are some videos and pictures and facts that will astound you and shake your ideas of "food" like you would not believe. One simple fact that really got me was that it takes seven pounds of grain to raise one pound of pork. Seven pounds! For one pound! Environmentalists, and this is just my opinion, who eat meat are hypocrites. Anyway, I figure that anyone who is interested in being vegetarian or vegan will ask questions or show interest, and then I will be there with ready information to help out.
But. There was this post at Sprol that I thought I would share on my journal if anyone wanted to see: Sexy Beef
Basically it shows a cattle feedlot from space. But not just any cattle feedlot, but one with 120,000 cattle and that employs over 1500 people. It is massive. It is disturbing. Read the post. Maybe it might make you think about what you are eating next time you pop into McDonald's for a Big Mac.

Didn't mean my comment to come across that way b/c I respect your opinions. I still consider myself an environmentalist, though. :)

Just for the record, I have chronic anaemia, too. Have for fifteen years now! So it is possible. :)
