Sexy Beef is like a Sexy Corpse.

I am a vegan. I have been for over three months, and I was vegetarian for a year before that. I am not about shoving stuff down my omnivore friends' throats. I figure that people will come to that in their own way. I mean, there are some videos and pictures and facts that will astound you and shake your ideas of "food" like you would not believe. One simple fact that really got me was that it takes seven pounds of grain to raise one pound of pork. Seven pounds! For one pound! Environmentalists, and this is just my opinion, who eat meat are hypocrites. Anyway, I figure that anyone who is interested in being vegetarian or vegan will ask questions or show interest, and then I will be there with ready information to help out.

But. There was this post at Sprol that I thought I would share on my journal if anyone wanted to see: Sexy Beef

Basically it shows a cattle feedlot from space. But not just any cattle feedlot, but one with 120,000 cattle and that employs over 1500 people. It is massive. It is disturbing. Read the post. Maybe it might make you think about what you are eating next time you pop into McDonald's for a Big Mac.

I know I know. I'd like to be a vegan so I could live with myself.

VC the hypocrite.

I've never, ever known you to be sarcastic, so I don't want to assume that is what I am reading, but it seems that way? :(

No Kymberlia, I wasn't being sarcastic. I admire vegans. However, due to my chronic anemia it's impossible, for now. Perhaps one day when it all sorts out.

Didn't mean my comment to come across that way b/c I respect your opinions. I still consider myself an environmentalist, though. :)

Ah. :) *Whew!*

Just for the record, I have chronic anaemia, too. Have for fifteen years now! So it is possible. :)

Yes, I remember you mentioning that you had it as well. I don't know what the cause of yours is but (to make a long story short) over the winter my iron dropped dangerously low, my doc said any lower and it was check out time. Consequently, I saw a few specialists and underwent a series of unpleasant tests (yuck) to determine why my iron levels kept dropping. They found inflammation that may cause a slow bleed, however, everyone has a different idea as to what's causing the inflammation. So, I'll see what happens next.

I drove past Shoppers the other day. I don't go in there anymore. I think I saw you. Two questions: a)has something about you changed since I saw you last (over a year ago) b)if so, what?
